Locks of hair tucked behind pages With pictures of your baby face Glowing in the summer shine There’s enough time, so much time
The smell of pine and that old book The one that told of the sea Big enough to fill your stomach A rush, a wait, asleep
A glass jar with six silver stars One for each time you said my name Meant it while we floated free Laid out on the field of wheat

certain songs remind me of certain people, times, instances, breaths.
almost like that moment is captured in a glass jar, lined up on the shelf of my heart.
and once that song is labeled to whatever it evokes, i cannot share that song with someone else in the same way because it is already linked to a memory. to have it mean anything else would be wrong, it wouldn’t make sense. it’s...
